Year 9 Forward FOCUS Trip to Newman University

Students in Year 9 experienced a day focusing on their future on Wednesday when they visited Newman University, and had lessons on future employment in school. They had sessions on careers, money, apprenticeships and the job market; and a site visit to Newman, where they found out about life at university, different courses and funding for Higher Education. of the university campus we saw the library, sports centre, halls of residence, lecture theatres and even the bar/social area (which was closed!)

Thank you to Mr Gay and the Aim Higher team who organised everything from the travel to the tour, and to our amazing team of form tutors who delivered the sessions and accompanied their forms to Newman. A special shout out to Mrs O'Brien who stepped in to taxi a few students (and Miss Moran) when the coach was full!
