Year 8 Retreat - February 24

We had our Year 8 retreat the Friday before half term. People like me don’t always feel compassion towards others.  We had visiting speakers – Barry and Margaret Mizen, who spoke about their son who was murdered in London at the ages of 16.  We also heard from Daniella Stephens who told us that God changed her life.  She is a story teller as a full time job.  The Mizens helped us learn about forgiveness and they shared their faith with us.  Daniella also had a strong faith and encouraged us to put Jesus at the centre of our lives. 

I went home feeling happy to be alive and not to give up.  They gave me strength to think about not retaliating when I am hurt by others.
