Year 7 Aquinas Experience - Blackwell

On Tuesday, Year 7 were lucky enough to be the first students to take part in an Aquinas Experience in nearly two years. Every student across the year group was invited to spend the day at Blackwell Adventure, an outdoor activity centre based in the beautiful countryside of Bromsgrove.

During the day, each student took part in 4 activities which pushed them to demonstrate and develop numerous skills. Challenges included a high ropes obstacle course, a 30m diving platform, a 'Giant's ladder', archery, crate stacking and a team challenge to name just a few. Unfortunately, students were not able to complete all activities on the day, but in their different combinations they were able to show courage, determination, resilience, communication and teamwork. Some of the activities were so fun that even the teachers got involved!

Throughout the day the students were a real credit to the school. On numerous occasions they were complimented by the Blackwell staff for their enthusiasm and good manners, something that was also echoed at the end of the day by the coach drivers. On only my second day as their Head of Year, I was blown away by the excellent behaviour and effort demonstrated by the year group.

A big thank you to all of the staff that made this trip possible, in particular Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Devlin for their organisation in the run up to the day. I am particularly pleased to report that even the weather held out, bright and sunny from start to finish!
