Year 13 Geography Fieldwork
On Thursday 15th October Year 13 Geography students carried out their data collection for the NEA component of their A Level course. Due to current restrictions students had to collect data from local areas and so carried out a range of primary data collection techniques from surveys to land use maps and people/traffic counts in Selly Park, Bournville and Longbridge. The data collected will enable students to produce their own investigations into issues such as regeneration, crime, quality of life, and sustainability in urban areas. Despite the current changeable and unpredictable situation, the year 13 students showed excellent focus, enthusiasm and resilience on the day in ensuring this vital aspect of their NEA is completed. Once back in class they will begin to analyse their data using techniques such as spearman’s rank and chi squared before writing up their overall results and conclusions. Well done year 13 for being such committed learners and excellent role models for the rest of the school.
