Year 12 trip to Aston University

On Tuesday 8th November, four Year 12 English Language and Literature students sampled a day of university life at Aston University. The day focused on what it would be like to study English, but also gave us a wider insight into life on campus. Our day began with a welcome, followed by a lecture on Point of View in Prose Fiction delivered in a lecture style theatre. This was followed by a tour of the campus where we saw other lecture theatres, the Law school, the impressive library, the sports grounds and the student union bar (which certainly impressed our students!) Following lunch purchased on campus, we ended the day with another lecture and information on the undergraduate courses the university offers. It was the first time some of our students had visited a university so it was great opportunity to get a feel of what their future holds!
