Year 12 students visit the Birmingham Women's Hospital
On Monday 22nd April, 10 year 12 students went to a work experience day at Birmingham Women's Hospital. Our day started in a lecture theatre used for the NHS staff training onsite. Our first talk was an introduction to working for the NHS with the experiences of a student midwife and other staff. We then watched a demonstration of how to deliver babies and using teaching props of a pelvis and a baby, we were able to have a go at delivering ourselves. The day ended with a small group question and answer session with a NHS worker, where we had the opportunity to ask any questions.
We had a great day and are very grateful for the opportunity to learn about Midwifery and the NHS in more detail.
