Year 11 Prom - July 2024

On Friday July 5^th it was the Year 11 Prom at Bromsgrove Hotel. Despite the rain, the student arrivals did not disappoint with an exciting array of noisy bikes, posh cars and the occasional limo - but best of all were so many parents proudly escorting their children to Prom, dressed in their best and looking so stylish. Students were treated to a welcome mocktail, Candy Bar, photobooth, buffet, cake, and a disco (with props) where some serious dance moves were being made! FInally, we crowned a Prom Queen and King (Cara S and Benedict) and a princess and prince (Valerie and Mathieu).

I was so touched to receive a card, gift and a huge bunch of flowers from the year group. I'm so lucky to have been their Head of Year for 5 years. It was a very emotional evening - seeing such fine young people getting a chance to relax and enjoy themselves, but also we took time to remember our friend, Jake, who died in 2020. We invited his mum and dad to come along and presented them with a hoody with his name on, and released a balloon for him at the end of the evening. This is such a special year group, held in such high regard by the school and whatever steps they take after Year 11, they will always be known and loved at STACS. Much love to the class of 2024!
