Year 10 visit to St Chad’s Cathedral and St Chad’s Sanctuary

I was honoured to be trusted and chosen because I am a good role model for the school.

On Tuesday we represented not only our school but all the schools in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. It was a privilege.

Mr Martin chose 15 year 10s to represent the school at the Fr Hudson’s Good Shepherd Mass. The Mass was beautiful and gave me the opportunity to deepen my faith.

Archbishop Bernard and Msg Tim made us feel really welcome. and gave us a prayer book at the end so we would remember the trip and pray daily. Milijana and Billy read the prayers of the faithful and Mr Martin read the first reading.

After Mass we were taken on a tour of St Chad’s Sanctuary. Mrs Martin enlightened us and told us about the help they give to refugees and asylum seekers who arrive in Birmingham with very little. They are not a nuisance or a statistic. They are loved by God equally as we are.

As a little bribe, we were delighted to receive a Macdonald’s on the way home and we were asked to be next year’s spiritual life ambassadors.
