Tommy's student becomes West Midlands Fire Cadet

I'm proud to say my son Joe Giles in 9TE has become a West Midlands Fire Cadet.

There are only a handful of cadets who are accepted each year and Joe was one of the lucky ones. The cadets are based at West Bromwich Fire Station and train weekly fire safety exercises and drills. The fire cadets also do lots of charity work in the community. As Joe was waiting for his cadet uniform they asked him to wear his school uniform for a bag packing fundraiser at Asda Great Bridge on 22nd June. So he represented St Thomas Aquinas that day and received lots of positive comments from the shoppers he helped.

Joe is immensely proud to represent the West Midlands Fire Service as a fire cadet and hopes to have a career in the service.
