The Relics of St Bernadette at St Chads Cathedral
On the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Friday 7 October 2022, the Archdiocese of Birmingham welcomed the Relics of St Bernadette.
A group of students from the sixth form leadership team and the Chaplaincy team were accompanied by Mrs. O' Driscoll and Miss Farrell to join the opening prayer service at St Chads Cathedral. After the service we had the chance to have a very special moment of personal prayer before the relics. Students wrote their prayer intentions which will be sent to the Grotto in Lourdes and lit a candle for their loved ones after the service. They were a credit to the school and conducted themselves with real reverence, well done!
St Bernadette, Pray for Us.

Lay Chaplain
As a member of STACS community I felt privileged to be able to attend the Mass on Friday night concerning the relics of St Bernadette, held at St chads cathedral. This was especially salient due to Bernadette being one of our school's patron saints. Towards the end of this occasion each person within the church was given the opportunity to pay their respects to Bernadette by genuflecting in front of the altar and the relics. There were also multiple posts of information throughout the church about this extraordinary women's life and what led to the canonization of her.
