Soli House - September 2022
Year 10 Soli House Retreat Theme ‘Anchored’
Students in Year 10 spent 4 days on retreat at Soli House in Alton, with the theme ‘Anchored’ focusing on their relationship with Christ and who He is to them. The week started off with an amazing day at the Towers filled with laughter and hot donuts! (Even if Mrs Lavelle, Mr Allan and Miss Farrell got stuck on the Skye Ride!).
Upon arrival at Soli, there was team building games followed by time to settle in our rooms. After dinner we got chance to unpack the theme of our retreat with reflections on who Christ really is and how we can welcome him into our lives.
We also looked at how we can make refugees feel welcome and we listened to some stories of HOPE allowing us to think about what is important to us.
On our final day, we had prayer in small groups and wrote affirmations for each other, reflecting on the new friendships made and what we have learnt. Andrew and Abdoulie led a thank you to the team for all they have done for us, finishing with an ‘Aquinas Thank You’ of course!
A wonderful retreat was had by all, well done Y10!
“I enjoyed the freedom we got at Alton Towers with our friends and the Team made us feel very welcome at Soli as soon as we arrived! Low ropes and Karaoke were fun. Throughout the trip, we reflected on Who God is and how we see him” - Maya
