Signs of Advent
On Wednesday we celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We heard the words in Luke 1:26-38 “Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favour with God’.
Around the school we have signs of Advent. Although we are not able to have our usual Carol Service and end of term Mass with the whole school, we have been able to focus more on the weeks of Advent. We have had prayer stations with years 7 and 8 and they have focused on Gratitude and reconciliation. They lit the candles of the Advent wreath. Mrs Robertson-Rogers also designed and made a beautiful floral display to go on the cross in reception. The students have been recorded reading and singing carols each week in Advent.
Despite being in Tier 3, we have not let that dampen our spirits as we have still found ways of focusing on Advent and waiting with Hope and Joy for the birth of Jesus.
Please join us through the ‘Our Lady and St Brigid’s’ parish MCN live-stream Mass on Thursday 17th December as our students will lead the singing and readings.
