STACS on ITV Central News
Hope is a life size 32,327 piece Lego figure of a suffragette which we have on loan from Parliament. She was commissioned to be built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women being able to vote, and has travelled around the country to universities, museums and other public buildings. Our local area has an historical connection to the suffragette movement- Northfield library was burnt to the ground by the suffragettes in 1914, and a note left pinned to the railings outside said give women the vote. There was also a book by Christabel Pankhurst with a note saying this is the first book for your new library. We have Hope until the last day of the summer and hope all of the students will come and visit her in the school library while she is here!
