St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School & Sixth Form

Pilgrims of Hope Relay Race

We kickstarted our Lumen Christi relay race from St Thomas Aquinas school with a beautiful prayer service.  We prayed for Peter Vince and Jo McAleenan and the two charities we have been supporting – Ovavcom and The Brain Tumour Charity.    As they prepared to run, we remembered the four Gospel values: Kind hearts, hunger for justice, questioning minds and thirst for justice. Students and staff ran to SJF school on the first leg of the journey.

Last Friday St Thomas Aquinas participated in the Lumen Christi Pilgrims of Hope baton relay. After a whole school line up and prayer, 15 students along with Ms Gannon and Mr Baker ran the first leg
from St Thomas Aquinas to St John Fisher Primary school. When we arrived, we were greeted with lots of cheering and celebrations as we passed the baton onto the primary school runners. We were privileged to run with family members of Peter Vince who we have been raising money in memory of this year, and who went on to run the whole 15 miles of the relay! Well done to all those involved.
