GCSE Results Day
St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School students have achieved superb results in their GCSE and other qualifications this summer.
Despite all the difficulties and challenges of the past two years, we are delighted to report that this is another year of really strong academic achievements. Several examples are listed below;
- Rahul achieved a Grade 9 in all his 10 GCSEs.
- Kirsten achieved a Grade 9 in 9 of her GCSE subjects.
- Rogel achieved a Grade 9 in 7 of his subjects.
- Lauren achieved a Grade 9 in 7 of her subjects.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
Mr Martin said:
“We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
Mrs Devlin said:
“I am so proud of you all and what you have achieved, you have proven to everyone what resilient and hardworking young adults are. Despite the pandemic and the setbacks that have happened, you have finished year 11 as committed learners and exceptional people. I wish you all the luck in the world as you begin the next stage in your life journey. Remember that “God has a purpose and a plan for your life” (Jeremiah 29:11).
