Family Mass - October 2021
After 18 months of not having a Family Mass in school due to COVID restrictions we were happy to celebrate our first one, even though we are in Year 8.
We had been rehearsing some new hymns that the year 7 students learned on their retreat earlier in the week. The one we knew the best was 10000 reasons (Bless the Lord Oh my Soul). At the end we also learnt some actions to a lively hymn called ‘My Lighthouse’. This was a jolly way to end a beautiful service.
We met Fr Srinu for the first time. He is chaplain to St John Fisher, St Columba’s and St James MAC primary schools. He focused on Mama Mary because it was the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
The year 7 students looked small as they walked in the opening procession and brought up the work they had done on their retreat day. It was lovely to see so many families at the Mass and staff members.
We loved the electric guitar from Mr Tibbits and we can’t wait for the Christmas carol service in December.
