Duke of Edinburgh training walks in Bromsgrove

This week, Year 9 and Year 10 students successfully completed their training for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Following a term of after school sessions, groups ventured into the countryside to develop and practise their navigation and expedition skills.

The students are now almost ready for their qualifying expedition, which will take place in a few weeks’ time, after which many will achieve their Bronze Award. In addition to the expedition section, students have spent several months developing a new skill, taking part in physical activity, and undertaking voluntary service.

Over the past year, students at STACS have completed more than 780 hours of volunteering in support of their local community, generating an estimated social value of almost £6,000. This achievement is a testament to the commitment, service, and dedication demonstrated by our students as they work towards completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
