Docs & Ox Event

After school on Thursday, we invited in guest speakers to talk to our students about aspirational careers, with a focus on those wishing to study Medicine or indeed study at either Cambridge or Oxford.
The guest speakers were all ex-students who travelled in from as far as afield as Nottingham to support our students. Dr O’Sullivan who left us 15 years headed of to serve in the army and is now a practising doctor. Nicole Travasso, who was deputy head girl last year, is currently studying Medicine at the University of Birmingham. Miss Baker studied Theology at Oxford and returned to us to teach RE after gaining her Masters a couple of years ago.

With over 30 students in attendance, who were accompanied by their parents, our guest speakers shared their academic stories and were inspirational in their delivery. It was great to see that time was also given for questions from the floor that really helped develop the students understanding. Each of those that delivered have also gone the extra mile to help coach and mentor the students in the future.
