Devon - July 2023

On Monday 17th July, as dawn broke 40 students set off to spend their final week of Year 7 in the beautiful South Hams, Devon. The 5-day camp was truly fantastic, and all students thoroughly enjoyed their adventure. We were lucky enough to have exceptional weather throughout the week, quite different to here in Birmingham, so I am told! The students enjoyed some great times, including:
• Multiple trips to the beach
• Canoeing on the local lay
• A stunning coastal walk
• Forest school
• Archery
• Quiz night
• Camp fire including roasting our own marshmallows
• Feed the local goats and chickens

Before heading back to Birmingham to start our summer holidays, our students (and staff!) enjoyed spending their final day together at Woodlands Family Theme Park. Many of our students braved numerous rides, including the thrill of the water slides. Over the five days, students developed both new and old friendships as well as building strong relationships with the staff who accompanied the trip. A huge thank you must go to the staff who made this possible – Ms Davey, Mrs Gay and Mr Gribbin.
