Climate Change Day at Alton Castle with the chaplaincy change-makers

On Monday, as members of the chaplaincy change-makers, we were invited to Alton Castle to learn more about Climate Change.

We met other children from the Birmingham Diocese and explored how we can make changes in our schools to help our environment.  We sang a beautiful song ‘Laudato Si’ which is also the name of the paper Pope Francis wrote about how we can look after God’s planet.

One of the main things we need to explore at school is recycling.  We use so much paper and throw away plastic bottles, so we decided that we will meet with Mr Martin to discuss our plans.  The year 10 students were keen to plant flowers that will make the environment look good and make our new prayer garden more inviting.
