Catholic Schools Summer Games
We took twelve year 7 and 8s to the annual Catholic School Summer Games on Friday 28th June at Bishop Walsh Catholic School. They competed in handball, ultimate frisbee and rounders. There were separate competitions for girls, boys and mixed. The students were fantastic and really did the school proud. Angel’s goal keeping skills alongside Elsie and Jessica’s attacking formation meant they reached the finals for the girls handball, narrowly losing to come in 2nd place with a final score of 6-7 to St Edmund Campion. The ultimate frisbee was a tough competition as it was quite windy all day, and both teams finished mid-table. The boys really showed their skills from PE in the rounders tournament, playing tactically and listening well to the girls advice (as they have a bit more experience with rounders) and really coming together as a team, winning 4 out of 5 games.
Overall, we came in 3rd place which was a fantastic result. The girls also come in 3rd in their competition.
Well played all.
