A LEVEL RESULTS DAY - THURSDAY 17th AUGUST 2023

Students have been celebrating their achievements in today’s A Level results.

We all recognise this has been an enormously challenging time for students who have had their education affected significantly. In many ways, this cohort has faced the toughest circumstances of all; as well as the range of disruption to their learning since 2020, there are fewer top grades nationally this year as we move back to tougher pre-pandemic grade boundaries.
Despite the national picture, 99% of A level results and 100% of vocational results were A*-E or equivalent, with 66% of these at A*-C. Students will leave St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School to study degrees ranging from medicine to mathematics to mental health counselling and from psychology to physiotherapy to paediatric nursing pharmacy and more!

The results achieved today reflect the incredible diligence and determination of so many in our community over the last seven years. We are absolutely thrilled for our students who, with the support of dedicated staff and their families, can now move onto the next steps in their education and realise their hopes and dreams for the future!

Student ‘R’ is going to read Mathematics at Manchester University.

Student ‘P’ will read Civil Engineering at Bristol University.

Student ‘K’ is going to the University of Bath to study Architecture after achieving A*, A* and A. Student ‘R’ and ‘A’ are going to study Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham.

We wish all of our year 13 students the very best of luck in the future.

God bless.
