A LEVEL RESULTS DAY - 10th August 2021

We are absolutely delighted to report that our students are again celebrating success in today’s A Level results.

Students typically make significant progress from their GCSE results to achieve outstanding post 16 results here at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. Despite all the difficulties and challenges of the past two years, we are delighted to report that the trend continued and it is another year of really strong academic and pastoral achievements.

The futures that our students dreamed of can now be realised with the overwhelming majority of our students moving on to their destinations of choice. Several examples are listed below;

  • Nicole achieved A* in Biology, A * in Chemistry, A* in Mathematics and is now going onto to University of Birmingham to study Medicine.
  • Kaz achieved A* in Fine Art , A* in English Lit & Lang and A* in French is now going onto to Cambridge University to read English.
  • Vince achieved A* in 3D Design , A* in Mathematics and A* Physics is now going onto to University of Birmingham to study Mechanical Engineering.
  • Alicia achieved a Triple Distincton * in Health & Social Care and is now moving onto Newman University to study Primary Education with QTS.
  • Sam achieved A* in English Lit & Lang, A* in Theology, A in Mathematics and is now moving onto University of Birmingham to study Philosophy.
  • Ellie achieved A* in English Lit & Lang, A* in Theology, A in History and is now moving onto University of Birmingham to study Law.

We all recognise this has been an enormously challenging time for students and their families who have faced many pressures over the past 18 months. These outcomes reflect the incredible diligence and determination of so many in our community over the last seven years.

Mrs Davies, Head of Year 13, said “I am extremely proud of our students, they have shown commitment and dedication to their studies under the most difficult circumstances . I wish them every success in their futures!”.

Mr Flood, Head of Sixth Form, said, “We are over the moon with their results. Despite the challenging times they faced, they persevered and their hard work was justly rewarded. I know that as a cohort their dedication shone through and we are blessed to have played a part in opening up career opportunities for aspiring Artists, Architects, Engineers, Doctors, Nurses and dare I say it, leaders of the future. God bless one and all.”

We are absolutely thrilled for our students who, with the support of dedicated staff and their families, have achieved these excellent results.
