Redesignation as a Maths and Computing Specialist school.
Having successfully completed the first four year phase as a Specialist School we were delighted to receive the news, just before half-term that our bid to be redesignated had been successful and the important status and funding attached secured for phase 2.
Specialist School status provides us with additional funding of approximately £130.000.00 annually which enables us to enhance our provision in school and in the community. Focused support is provided for the specialist subjects of Maths and ICT and the innovative use of ICT is supported across the whole range of subjects. In addition we are able to provide outreach support to our 10 main feeder primary schools and to work with a local secondary school within the OAKS Academy Collegiate Partnership. Family learning and Adult Education provision are also supported through Specialist School status. Redesignation will allow us to continue to raise standards, deliver this vast range of activity and to develop our expertise and expand our resources. Phase 2 will have a strong theme of innovation so watch this space as the plans unfold.
