The governors insist that all pupils wear the distinctive uniform of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. A list of both boys' and girls' uniform is shown below. All items of school uniform should be clearly and permanently marked with the owner's name. Specific items of uniform should be bought at one of the two approved suppliers - Clive Mark or First Class.

- Only items included on this list may be worn for PE/Games lessons.
- The school tie should always be worn (unless otherwise directed as in certain practical lessons, hot weather, etc).
- Skirts/trousers should be black.
- Blouses/shirts should be plain and white.
- Shoes should be black, plain and practical.
- Trainers are not to be worn, except in PE lessons.
- Socks should be dark and plain; girls are permitted to wear white.
- School sweatshirts bearing the school badge are black.
- Boys should wear no jewellery whatsoever, whilst girls are permitted to wear one pair of ear-studs.
- Hairstyles should not be extreme.
There is no uniform for sixth formers. However, they should be neat and tidy in their appearance, and students are reminded of their responsibility to set a good example with regard to younger pupils.

Please note:
- In very cold weather tracksuit bottoms may be worn at the discretion of the teacher for outdoor lessons
- The department strongly recommends that pupils provide themselves with mouthguards/gumshields and shinpads for use in games such as rugby, hockey or football.
- In order to prevent posible loss, it is strongly recommended that all items of kit are clearly labelled with the pupil's full name.
- When pupils are suffering from injury or illness and are not able to take part fully in lessons, a note from their parent/guardian would be appreciated. On such occasions, a pupils should still bring their full kit as they can still take part in the lesson in another capacity, e.g.umpire/referee, coach, scorer, equipment assistant.
