Choosing the right secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever have to make. We hope that this prospectus will give you some insight into the way we work and what we offer, but we also hope it reveals something of the spirit on which we base our school. As a Catholic school, we have a deep understanding of the meaning of community. We also appreciate that we have an obligation to challenge pupils to strive for the highest standards, both in their learning and in their lives. We know that in order to fulfil their potential at school, pupils must feel happy and secure - with friends whose company they enjoy and teachers whom they trust and respect. School is a place for work, but also a place to be enjoyed - somewhere to learn and somewhere to grow.
At St Thomas Aquinas, we want for your children exactly what you want as parents - the best and nothing but the best. We know that we will achieve that only with your active support and involvement. That is why we place a huge emphasis on the importance of working closely with parents and why we spend a great deal of time developing that vital partnership. We know that we have a good school now, but we intend to make it an even better school in the future. We hope you will join us on our exciting journey.
We are very pleased to be the first 11-18 Mathematics and Computing College in Birmingham, a status achieved from September 2003. Specialist status will bring many advantages to the school in terms of resources and opportunities and will benefit every pupil in every curriculum area. We are also able to work much more closely with the local community within and beyond the school.
