Girls Badminton:

Level 3 Birmingham Badminton Finals:

On Thursday 14th March we travelled over to the Doug Ellis Sports Centre in Perry Barr for the Level 3 School Game Birmingham Badminton finals, where both our KS3 and KS4 teams were to play against the top schools from the Level 2 tournaments across the city.

The level of play was extremely high, with many of the teams our girls opposed being of county standard.  We fought hard and didn't give up, even when facing very talented opposition, which was proved by never finishing a game without winning some points!

I was very proud of how our teams conducted themselves, always being the first to shake hands after a game had finished and praising excellent play. The game of the day was Kelcie, who went into a two points clear play off against the number 1 seed from Sutton Girls School; every point was a rally and hard won.

The final positions were:

KS3 - 5th Place
KS4 - 6th place

Well done all!

KS3 Team:

KS4 Team:

Girls Basketball:

Birmingham School Finals:

Both our KS3 and KS4 teams made it to the Birmingham School Games Basketball finals against Bishop Challoner on Tuesday 19th March.

Our Ks4 team unfortunately just missed out on the medal spot after leading the whole way through the game and losing 3 points in the very last 2 minutes of the game. The girls fought hard the whole way though and showed some real skill and experience. Final score 19-22. Well done ladies!

Our Ks3 team also came runners up, playing a very physical and scatty match.  They did well, holding their nerve and calming the game down.  However, one to many failed passes, which the opposition utilised on resulted in an 8-18 LOSS.

Well done to both teams.  Runners up in the whole of Birmingham is something to be very proud of.
