Christmas Hampers

This year students of tutor group 10TE demonstrated their commitment to our virtue of service by distributing hamper boxes across the school for students and staff to place their donated tin or packet of food. Contributions were greatly boosted by two very large donations one from a local shop and another from a parent. Over eighty well stocked and beautifully presented hampers were distributed by Mr Easy last week and by Mr. Jaep and sixth formers on Monday 17th December. Hampers were given to families and individuals in need across in the Saint Thomas Aquinas School community and diocese. A number of hampers were given to Lumen Christi primary schools to support some of their families too.

Feedback received so far has been very positive. Mrs Keeves, our senior librarian wrote: ‘I took the hamper to the family from church, it was well received, and they were very grateful, the dad who had the stroke is in hospital with pneumonia and sepsis so is really poorly, thank you for letting them have one’

A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all students, parents and staff for their contributions, Mrs Ulmkalns for her gift tags, Mrs. O Driscoll’s liturgy students for hamper cards and the RE team for organising the Christmas card competition. Well done to all of 10TE for their endeavours and Megan, Ellie-Rose, Anya, Victoria and Blessing in particular.
