OFSTED Inspection, November 2018

Read about our school full of “articulate, courteous and polite” students who display “excellent attitudes to their learning”. This is a journey of school improvement and we have only just got started.

Evening of Carols and Readings

First of all we travelled around all the primary schools helping Mrs O’Driscoll and Mrs Bentley, we taught them two carols; ‘Star Carol’ and ‘In a stable long ago’. This paid off as over 40 children from our feeder schools attended with their families, teachers and friends.  The week before the event finally arrived and preparations had commenced. Mrs Bentley and Mrs Johnson worked extremely hard preparing the choir and musicians. As did Mrs O’Driscoll who made sure everything was organised and went according to plan.

As the night grew closer we had more and more rehearsals – reading, singing carols, carrying lanterns and gathering lots and lots of candles!

On the night, we encouraged our families to come.  Some of the liturgy leaders and 6th formers brought in cakes and raffle prizes to sell in aid of those going to Lourdes.  The choir had outstanding attendance and the singing was amazing. Even the staff formed a choir with teachers and governors from other MAC schools. Parents and governors commented how good we were.  To top it all, we made over £100 for the Lourdes fund.

We love being in the choir despite all our rehearsals.  What a successful evening – can’t wait until next year!
