From the ‘Caribbean’ to ‘Liverpool’ in two days!

On Tuesday November 21 it was my pleasure to accompany 20 Year 11 Media Studies students along with Miss Doyle to a viewing of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' at Cineworld, Solihull. The film was viewed in conjunction with the students' study into Action Adventure: a key component of their examination next year. The next day, I also accompanied the Year 12 Media Studies students to The Empire Cinema in Rubery for a viewing of ‘Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool’. As the A-Level curriculum includes the study of independent British film, this was a wonderfully idiosyncratic example of the genre. On both days, behaviour was exemplary before, during and after the screening. Thank you Year 11 and Year 12 you were fantastic and it was a privilege to be there with you on both days. You are a credit to yourselves, the subject and St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.

Head of Media Studies
