Family Mass – Tuesday 10th October

During the day the Year 7 students worked on the themes of ‘Gifts and talents’, ‘Priest, Prophet King’, and ‘The Body of Christ’.  The afternoon was spent preparing for a prayer service.  All these activities culminated in a beautiful Family Mass in the evening where the families of Year 7 were invited to participate and see what their child had been working on at school.

In addition, our Head boy and girl led the Mass by welcoming everyone and reading as the students brought up their work from the day.

Fr Emmanuel spoke about the House Saints being a role model for us to follow.  He challenged us to be the best person we can be and to offer our service to God and service to others.  The theme of the Mass was also about being one body and being a family within the body of Christ.

Two students, Liam and Leah read a communion reflection based on the Body of Christ and how through baptism we become part of one body in the family of God.
There was a great turn out of parents and teachers from all year groups.  The students sang and signed a new hymn called ‘Family of Faith’.  Thank you to Mr Smith, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Bentley and the choir for leading the music.
