St Peter and St Paul Mass

Form Tutors and staff worked efficiently to get 1000 pupils into the sports hall on Thursday 29th June to start Mass promptly at 9am.  Fr Emmanuel was surprised to see that the school was ready and waiting when he arrived! The whole St Thomas Aquinas community joined together for Mass, to celebrate the Feast Day of the great Catholic Saints, Ss. Peter and Paul.

During Mass, Mr Smith and Mr Martin became St Peter and St Paul respectively and read monologues on the lives of both the saints, emphasising the dedicated service to God that both saints displayed.

A particular word of thanks goes to the Year 7 and Year 9 pupils who are wonderful artists.  They gave up their break and lunch times to draw life size pictures of Ss Peter and Paul.  Nicole, Avril, Ellie, Jessica, Olivia and many others assisted in their creations.  Many of the young liturgy leaders also gave up their time to help prepare for the Mass.  Patrick Windsor helped guide the younger pupils.

A big thank you to everyone who read in the Mass and to Mrs Johnson, Mrs Bentley, members of the enormous choir and instrumentalists for making the Mass such a fitting celebration of one of the biggest feast days in the Church's calendar.  It couldn’t happen without Fr Emmanuel and Mr Smith.
