Well done Joe!

On Monday 19 June 2017  Joe, a former student, was invited to the Jury’s Inn Hotel, Cardiff to be presented with a Commendation by Chief Superintendent Allan Gregory Divisional Commander of The British Transport Police.  The Commendation was awarded to Joe for his quick thinking and bravery on 9 March 2017.  On this evening Joe was walking to Bournville railway station when he saw a very distressed man who was about to jump from the bridge. Joe immediately began to talk to the man, took hold of his arms and prevented him from jumping. Joe had to hold onto the man and keep him talking for over an hour until help arrived when Joe was able to help pull the man to safety.

The Police have recognised that Joe had saved a life that night and that he went above and beyond what is expected   in order to support a vulnerable person.
