Good Shepherd Mass at St Chadís Cathedral

We were delighted to be chosen as liturgy leaders to represent the school at the Good Shepherd Mass on Tuesday 13th June.

Anna O’Driscoll and Mr Jaep took us to St Chad’s.  Some of us had never been to the Catholic Cathedral before. The Cathedral soon filled up with 23 other schools, mainly primary.

Mia and Enya in Year 7 carried the STACS banner at the offertory.  Elizabeth and Alicia in Year 9 offered our school cheque of over £800.

The Archbishop thanked the schools for the fundraising efforts during Lent.  He said ‘We are the Shepherds of the flock’. He encouraged us to live our lives to the full with Christ as our light.

He particularly praised the older pupils who went to Lourdes and gave of their time and energy to help others.

Andy Quinn gave more insight into what Fr Hudson’s does in our community.  They have opened a house in Digbeth for female refugees who are in distress.

It was a lovely morning and we were pleased to have our photo taken with Bishop Bernard, followed by squash and biscuits in the room below.
