Year 9 Football Report

Last time STACS met Colmers, they suffered a massive 5-1 defeat in the league. With emotions running high after four wins on the bounce, it was vital the lads carried their determination and hunger into this cup semi-final.

Tommies started the game well, with lots of opportunities going forward with the ball. Unfortunately, the likes of Jayden Mckayle and Elias Rouse were unable to find the back of the net. Colmers had just as many chances but again were unable get onto the score sheet. With half time approaching, the game remained 0-0.

After a quick team talk and a substitution in the back four, Tommies came out all guns blazing. After 5 minutes of play, Elias Rouse managed to bag the first goal after a great phase of play.

Tommies now in their stride the goals kept coming, with the team scoring another five. Elias Rouse got his brace, right wing and MOM Romee Simpson-Palmer bagged himself a hat-trick and Mason Rainbow scored one too. Colmers did look like pulling a goal back but thanks to Connor Fitzgerald and his incredible fingertip save, the goal was prevented.

It was a great team effort from the boys and I am excited to see how they get on next week in the cup final against either Kings Norton or Bishop Challenor.
Well Done Lads!!
