Sports Results - Week Beginning 6 March

Y10 Basketball:
STACS v Shenley (Lost 18 - 28)
POM: Ed Lane
A defeat in the last game of the season, but a year with a lot of positive results and progress, and a 3rd place finish in the league to reward the boys' hard work and commitment.

Y11 Football:
Birmingham Cup Semi Final
Perry Beeches 1, STACS 8 (Okafor x 3, Williams x 3, Higgins, Black)
POM - Miracle Okafor

STACS ran out comfortable winners in the end but did not have things all their own way in a high pressure game to reach the cup final. In fact, Perry Beeches took the lead on 20 minutes against the run of play and only a superb save from goalkeeper Connor Owens stopped them doubling this lead. However, Miracle Okafor deservedly equalised for the visitors to take them in 1-1 at half time. In the second half, STACS flew out the blocks with Okafor netting again 30 seconds from kick off! This set the tone for a phenomenal second half performance, as first Sam Williams and then Luke Black with a 25 yard free kick, began to see STACS pull away. The one-way traffic continued and the boys maintained their intensity and work ethic as captain Matthew Higgins scored before Okafor and Williams competed their hat-tricks to leave an incredible scoreline at the final whistle! The boys should be extremely proud of their achievements in reaching the final of this prestigious competition. Well done to all involved:
Connor, Kasalema, Ciaran, Connor, Kam'i, Niall, Jamie, Matthew, Remy, Sam, Miracle, Luke, James.

The final will be played against the winner of Kings Norton Boys and Tudor Grange, on Wednesday 29th March at the Holyfield Sports Club in Erdington, 4.00p.m. kick off.

The Year 10 team play their semi final v Turves Green Boys today at 4.00p.m. Watch this space and fingers crossed for another positive result and another team in a cup final!
