End of Year Mass 2016

It was a great privilege to be in the sports Hall as we celebrated our last Mass of the school year. Fr. Emmanuel said Mass for us, it hardly seems it has been a whole year since he first became school Chaplain.

The Mass was one of thanksgiving and as always when we come together as a community students were respectful and reflective. Before Mass began there was an opening procession where we offered things we were giving thanks for, including sport, spiritual Life, our trips, the teaching and learning that happens in our school, those staff who are retiring or leaving the school. It was a wonderful way to start our morning together.

Following Mass, Miss Madden presented the Chris Murphy Award for public speaking to Grace Haycock Ivo in year 8 as she had been unable to attend our annual awards evening in April. Miss Madden then went on  to speak about the staff that will be leaving us this summer, some after many years of service to our school. Both students and staff joined in enthusiastically to thank them.

Thank you must go to to the readers, the processors, who did everyting I asked of them. A big thank you to the choir and musicians and, in particular, Mrs Johnson and Mr Fowler for preparing and leading them so well, and to everyone who made the final morning of this school year so special.
