Youth Basketball League Semi Finals

As many of you know Basketball is a very popular sport with boys and girls alike at STACS.  Last Saturday I had the pleasure of being invited to watch the Youth Basketball League semi-finals which featured many of our students who play for Bromsgrove Bears and Frankley Falcons. The standard of play was exceptional and all the students showed how hardworking and talented they are and I was very proud to tell the people sat around me that these are the students I teach. The U13 Bromsgrove Bears team won the finals on the Sunday as did the U15 Frankley Falcons.  The U17 and U19 teams narrowly missed out on reaching the finals.  Our players were;  Jayden, Bakaang, Tyrese, Boris, Luke, Melanie (the only girl on the team, an absolute inspiration and role model!), Nick, Cori, Jared, CJ, Panashe and Kai. A special mention to Nick who also won the YBL Chairperson’s Young Adult Special Recognition Award for not only his playing achievements but his referring accomplishments.

Sports Leaders

Monday after school we hosted a primary school Red Tennis Competition for a few of our local schools for the School Sports Partnership.  The following students were absolutely incredible in the way they behaved, ran and organised the competition making it a fun, exciting and pleasurable opportunity for the schools involved and an absolute credit to us and themselves. Well done to Nathaniel, Brandon, Aidan, Cara, Ria, Mollie, Aleasha, Georgia and Amy-Jade.
