Oscar Romero Diocesan Mass – St Chad’s Cathedral

On Tuesday, a group of us in years 8 and 9 visited St Chad’s Cathedral for a day filled with activities and followed by a mass to celebrate the life of our house Patron, Oscar Romero. We were joined by a number of other schools from with the diocese, which meant speaking to new people and making new friends.

The first thing we did when we arrived was to watch a short video about the life of Blessed Oscar Romero, which helped us with our understanding of his spiritual life.  After this, we took part in a workshop in which we made our own country using resources such as sticks and matches. This activity helped us understand all of the problems with the world. The day ended with an amazing mass, which was put together by a number of students, who helped with altar serving, reading and the procession.
