Year 10 Mock Interviews and Preparation Day

On Monday 13 July, Year 10 took part in their preparation day for their mock interviews.  They were taught how to complete job application forms, the importance of first impressions and interview skills. They also produced a CV to present at the interview.  Well done to the year group on that day for their excellent co-operation and behaviour.  Many thanks to the 31 members of staff involved in the day.

On Tuesday, 17 business people came into school to carry out the mock interviews.  The students came into school for a one and a half hour session, during which time they had their interviews, and completed a self-evaluation form. They had two presentations delivered by staff; one was on 'What to expect in Year 11' and the other was 'Post-16 Options'.

The interviewers were very complimentary about our students and were impressed with the intelligent and articulate answers given to their questions.  They were amazed that the students did so well considering it was their first formal interview.

I would like to say that I am very proud of our Year 10 students.  They behaved impeccably and were a credit to our school. Well done.  I would also like to thank Miss Kavanagh, Mr Hindley, Mrs Killingworth, Mr Docherty, Mrs Simpson and my sixth form team of helpers for their assistance and hard work on the interview day.
