Good Shepherd Mass at St Chads Cathedral

On Wednesday 20th May  Mr Nolan and I accompanied 11 students, in year 8 to St Chad’s Cathedral to attend  the annual Good Shepherd Masses for Father Hudson’s Society. The Mass is a celebration and a thank you to the schools that have raised money for the Society, particularly through their Lenten ‘Good Shepherd Appeal’. The cathedral was full of young people representing Catholic schools in Birmingham.   During the Offertory Procession representatives from all the schools, carried banners and their cheques to offer them to Bishop Pargeter, who was celebrating the Mass. We were very proud to hand over a cheque for over £850 as our contribution to the appeal; this money was raised through our non-uniform day in the spring term.

On the 20th May a few of us year 8 students went to St Chad’s Cathedral to the Good Shepherd Mass. At the Cathedral there were a lot of primary and secondary schools represented.

During the offertory procession students processed the banners of their schools and handed over the cheques for the money raised for the Good Shepherd appeal. After Mass we all went into a room at the back of the Cathedral to have a drink and biscuits before heading back to school.
