OFSTED Inspection, November 2018

Read about our school full of “articulate, courteous and polite” students who display “excellent attitudes to their learning”. This is a journey of school improvement and we have only just got started.

Easter Mass

On Thursday 26th March, we gathered as a whole school community to celebrate the faith of our school together. We are very familiar with wonderful celebrations of Mass in many different settings and today’s was no exception. Mr Smith called for reverence from everyone before we started and that is certainly how the whole school responded.

To celebrate our changing to Academy status from April 1st, at the beginning of Mass, students representing all the schools that will make up the Lumen Christi Catholic Multi Academy proceeded the to the front with names and badges and placed them before the Altar to remind us of all we have to celebrate. We were also very privileged to have Headteachers from 3 of the schools at Mass (Mrs Nash from St Brigid’s Primary School, Mrs Angela Backen from St James’ Primary School and Mrs Mary Daniels from St Paul’s Primary School). Also present was Mr Hardy, one of the new board of Directors for the Academy.

The Mass continued in a reflective, but celebratory manner and, as always, students were impeccably behaved and took part in the celebration with reverence.

Miss Madden finished off our celebration by reminding us of the bright future we have to look forward to in the Academy. She also took time to thank Fr. Jan, as this will be his last whole school Mass with us.

Thank you, as ever, to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes. As we always say, it is such a privilege to be able to come together in this way.

We wish you all a very happy, holy and blessed Easter.
