Forward Thinking Trip to Birmingham University 24 June 2014

On Wednesday 27 June, I had the pleasure of accompanying a group of Year 10 students to Birmingham University. On our arrival, we were met by Birmingham University Student Ambassadors who looked after our students for the morning.

It was an opportunity for our students to reflect on the activities and learning they had participated in since Year 8 as part of the Forward Thinking Programme, a project that encourages students to explore the benefits of Higher Education. Our students were given guidance on the importance of good GCSE grades and how their choices of A Level subject can influence the degrees they can study, and subsequently their future careers.

Students then participated in an activity designed to help them focus on where they would like to be in 5 years' time. A big thank you to Charlotte, Patrick, Danyal, Emily and Adam: who were a credit to the school and themselves.
