Good Shepherds Mass at St Chads - 21 May 2014

When we arrived at the Cathedral all of us were amazed at the sight of the tabernacle and how intricate the design was. The choir started to warm up and as soon as they started to sing there was a real buzz in the air and everyone waited in anticipation.

Bishop Pargeter who was celebrating the Mass reminded us about Jesus' teachings and how we are like sheep and Jesus is our shepherd - the theme of the Mass was The Good Shepherd.

Caitlyn Williams from Year 9 read the first reading and then four of our students (Tommy Sheils, Declan Martin and Alleya Henry from year 9 and Teah Lyons from year 7) took part in the offertory. Between them they carried up our school banner and a cheque which we presented as a donation from the school to The Father Hudson Society.

The choir sang really well - they were led by one of the many primary schools who were present.

After the Mass we even managed to get a photo with the Bishop!
