West Midlands Cup Basketball Finals - 10 April 2014

On Thursday 10th April the Year 8 and 9 boys basketball team played in the West Midlands Cup Final competitions in Perry Barr.

We are pleased to report that the Year 8 team won the competition! STACS v Baverstock 21 - 13. West Midlands Champions 2014!

The Year 9 boys have had their most successful season ever having already won the South West competition. Unfortunately they lost by one point in the final of the West Midlands cup! STACS V Kings Edwards Sheldon 43 - 44.

Well done to all our basketballers this season on some amazing achievements on the basketball court!

Year 8 Basketball Report (STACS 21-13 Baverstock)

1st quarter was a very fast paced game seeing Tommy's take the lead. We were quick, skillful and were finishing lay-ups well, putting Baverstock on the back foot. However in the 2nd quarter, the performance levels dropped. STACS were rushing, making too many mistakes and ultimately allowing Baverstock to get back into the game. Following a team talk at half time, we changed our shape on the court and slightly adapted our strategy, which enabled us to take charge once again. The final quarter saw a more relaxed and focused squad which continued to hold the lead and allow STACS to lift the trophy!
