Family Mass - 3rd July 2012

On Tuesday 3rd July we gathered for our final Family Mass of the school year. The Mass was celebrating the service of those staff who are leaving at the end of term some of whom have spent their entire career at St Thomas Aquinas. It was a pleasure to welcome not only the staff leaving but their families too. And it was great to welcome back so many former staff too. A special mention must be made of Father Seamus from Our Lady of Fatima, Quinton who was visiting us for the very first time but made a great impression on us all. We hope it's the first of many visits in the future.

We reflected on the tragic loss of Billie-Jayne and prayed for the students of Year 11 and Year 13 who are anxiously awaiting examination results this summer. We gave thanks for the work of those staff who are leaving us and beginning a new chapter in their lives.

At the end Mr Foley thanked Fr Stefan for his dedication to the school over the last twelve years as School Chaplain. Fr Stefan is leaving his Parish and Chaplaincy roles at St Thomas Aquinas and Newman College to undertake a new appointment in Warwick. We wish him every happiness and success in his new ministry.
