Oxford Aspiration Programme - 13th June 2012

On Wednesday 13th June, I had the pleasure of accompanying a group of Year 9 students to Oxford University. The students are part of the Oxford Aspiration Programme, which has allowed some of our most able students to consider what undergraduate life would be like if they were to attend one of the country's leading universities.

On our arrival, we were given a tour of Keble College, whose dining room looked like the Great Hall at Hogwarts and a talk to explain what life is like for an Oxford University student. Following lunch, we walked through Oxford to New College, where scenes from Harry Potter were filmed in the Cloisters.

The College has also been the backdrop for scenes in Inspector Morse and Lewis. Following a tour of New College, our students took part in a scavenger hunt around the City, which everyone thought was a lot of fun. A big thank you to our students who were both a credit to themselves and the school.
