Our School...

Highest number of applications for places in Year 7 next year since 2005!

Indoor Primary Athletics

On Tuesday July 5, we waited with baited breath for 90 Year 5 pupils from nine of our primary feeder schools to compete in our annual Indoor Athletics Championship. The pupils from St Brigid's, St Columba's, St John Fisher, St James', Our Lady and St Rose of Lima, St Mary's, St Paul's, St Joseph's and St Edward's were greeted by former pupils and taken to our sports hall.

Before the event started, the competition was heating up as team talks were underway and final instructions were given to the competitors. High standards have been set over the last few years and tension was rising!

There was a nervous wait as Mr Lowe totalled up the results but finishing in 3rd place was St Brigid's, 2nd place went to St Mary's, last year's winners, and in 1st place was St Joseph's!

It was a really close competition this year so well done to everyone.

A huge thank you should go to all our Primary colleagues and pupils who were fantastic and a big thank you to all the staff and students at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School for all their help and support.

School Sports Co-ordinator
