More House Mass - 14 February 2011

More House celebrated its very first House Mass on Monday morning. It was a wonderful occasion which brought all members of the House together: students, tutors, support staff and More House's link governor - Mr David Holmes.

The theme of the mass was ‘Discipleship' which was demonstrated throughout by the reverent and respectful manner of each and every student.

Father Stefan's homily encouraged students to think about the qualities of our House Patron - St Thomas More. He explained that St Thomas More was a man of courage, faith and integrity - qualities the students of More House should endeavour to embrace.

A lot of preparation preceded the first More House Mass. All forms were represented by members of their forms who spent time rehearsing prior to the Mass - many thanks! Special thanks go to More House's wonderful tutor team who worked hard preparing the students for the Mass. Thanks also to our Lay Chaplain, Anne-Marie Tibbits, Ms Cutler and the choir for their contributions to the mass and Mr Mobbs for his help transforming the main hall into our place of worship.

Mr Foley expressed how impressed he was with the students of More House. As Head of More House, I am so proud of the manner in which all students conducted themselves. Once again, the students proved that More House is a very special house to be part of!
