New School Day - letter to parents 17 May 2010

Dear Parents

NEW SCHOOL DAY FROM SEPTEMBER

As promised in the Friday Letter, I am writing to update you on the new school day in September which the Governors have now approved.  There are two key changes to draw to your attention:

1)   Pupils will need to be in their tutor bases by 8.35 am each day which is 5 minutes earlier than now.

2)   School will finish for pupils on Wednesdays at 2.20 pm to enable the staff to participate in essential In-Service Training.

Parents need to note the arrangements regarding buses in September.  The 884 will be available at 2.20 pm but the other four buses (47 x 2, 878 878E) will not be available until 3.10 pm.  Pupils who wish to catch one of these buses from the Playground will be able to do so and will be supervised from 2.20 pm until 3.10 pm.

Next month we will be meeting the parents of Year 6 children who will be joining us in September and outlining the arrangements to them.  Once I have received final confirmation of the September schedules from National Express I shall inform parents via the Friday Letter.

If any parent requires further details regarding the new school day or wishes to discuss it further please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone or email foleyj@stacs.bham.sch.uk.

With best wishes
